INSTYTUT PROFILAKTYKI ZINTEGROWANEJ
INSTITUTE FOR INTEGRATED PREVENTION

Dear Friends,

Following our successful workshop during the World Youth Days 2016 in Cracow we go on with sharing our experience of work with youth and
research on youth internationally.
I would like to kindly invite you to participate in the conference "Youth – the Future of Family and Society. How to Guide Youth Towards a Happy Marriage and Family These Days" organized by our Institute for Integrated Prevention on the 12th of March 2017 in Paris. The conference will be held in English with a consecutive French translation.

All the details regarding the conference you can find in the attached program of the conference
Please don't keep this information to yourself.
We would be grateful for transmitting our invitation
to the leaders working with youth, leaders of pro-family or parental organizations, leaders of religious organizations, social scientists, other social leaders and interested people from your countries.

To get an idea of our broad prevention agenda, please watch the 5-minutes video: https://youtu.be/WMFOQh4ifXE

I want to inform you that our strategic publication -  The Guidebook of Effective Prevention of Youth Problems..." is almost translated into English and we hope to publish it in June! This publication is very supportive of the personalistic approach that is used our Archipelago of Treasures program and many other programs inspired by the approach rooted in a conviction about the entirety and dignity of the human person. The Guidebook formulates a set of recommendations for practitioners, local authorities and governments called the "Seven levers of effective prevention".
Last week we have shared our approach and our experience during an international meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia. In the end of March we go to Italy, and in May we will visit the Deutsches Institute fur Jugend und Gesellshaft.

We are open to cooperation also with you!
May the effects of our activities reinforce each other!

Kind regards,
dr Szymon Grzelak,
President of the Institute for Integrated Prevention, Poland

Title of the conference:

Youth – the Future of Family and Society
How to Guide Youth Towards a Happy Marriage and Family These Days

Paris, 12th of March 2017 [English/French]

Goal of the conference:

To share the best fruits of the 20 years of experience of our Institute in guiding youth towards
a happy marriage and family and invite participants for cooperation. These fruits are:

  • The Archipelago of Treasures® program which is successfully conducted in Polish public schools for over 35 000 teenagers every year and which reduces: contact of youth with pornography, early sexual activity, drug and alcohol use, suicidal thoughts (the effects proven by evaluation research). The program is broadly appreciated by parents and teachers as well as very attractive for youth.
  • The strategy of “Seven levers of effective prevention of youth problems” based on results of scientific research which can be implemented in every European country.

Our research on large samples of youth (N>10 000) shows: enormous role of parents as authority and as guides accepted by adolescents a lot more than one could suppose, unique potential of mother and father in protecting youth from different risk behaviors, strong role of religiosity in protecting from youth problems, central role of sexualization (stimulated by pornography) as a risk factor of multiple youth problems (suicidal thoughts and depression, drug and alcohol abuse, violence, sexual risk behavior), alarmingly low level of dreams of youth about having children in future (very important demographic factor).

The approach that we propose can help broaden the acceptance of pro-family agenda in the society (beyond the usual group of conservative and religious supporters).

Target audience: Leaders working with youth, leaders of pro-family or parental organizations, leaders of religious organizations, social scientists, other social leaders and interested people
